Cisneros is the only daughter, her father didn’t approve her writing.

She mainly focused on stories of her growing up. She would talk about how her father thought she was a disappointment for her not getting a husband in college.
She wanted to shape the readers opinion. Every time she would talk about something it would loop back and talk about her family.
Each paragraph tells a story about how her literacy grew because of her family.
