We are at the end of the term now and I have learned quite a lot about what writing is and how it works. I now know that it’s important to plan out like write down your ideas before starting. You have to draft and do a lot of research to make your essay good and strong. Most importantly, you need evidence because, without them, the paper is basically useless. You need to do revisions and other things to make the paper a strong paper.

For Major Assignment 4, I will be using the main six questions that we chose from the book. My audience would be teenagers and young adults. The genres I chose are a photo essay and an article. I will be using photos with few words for the photo essay and for the article, I will write about one’s literacy sponsor since my purpose is to make young teenagers realize that their literacy sponsors are their teachers, parents, and major changes in their lives.

For Major Assignment 4, the possible audiences that I have explored to target would be teenagers and young adults who’re going to high school or college. I choose this type of audience based on my assigned reading from Major Assignment 3. The genres that might best meet the needs of those audiences and purposes would probably be a photo essay and an article.

Applying and Exploring Ideas: Question #2

A playlist of writing that I regularly do outside of school is writing in my notes like ideas that come to my mind. I write down usernames and passwords just in case I forget. Other things are set up a reminder, texting, creating a movie list/bucket list, and posting stories on Instagram or Snapchat. The list I have created is very different compared to my school writing. School writing has specific directions on what to do or whatnot. We are being graded based on the length of the paper and grammar. School writing is serious and has an educational purpose behind it. Outside of school writing is easy and I can write without any hesitation or stress on what to write or how I should write. I learned that school writing and outside of school writing have their own places and purposes.

Our group struggled from the beginning because we were all so lost and confused. It was a difficult journey from the beginning but it seems like we got it now. After we did peer review, I was surprised that our project was not the same compared to other groups. I thought we did good but we could have done better. Answering the 15 questions were easy but it was harder to narrow down the questions and find similarities. After finding what’s common between us, we had to code and it wasn’t that bad even though we had technical issues while trying to print the paper. The most part we took time was coming up with a research question. Overall, it was a good experience.

“Reflect upon how knowledge is made in writing via research, based upon your reading, your research in the group, and your experiences in other courses or areas of your life”

Knowledge is made in writing in many ways throughout our life. The knowledge that I learned through writing was quite an experience. Our group project is Group Analysis of Literacy History and I have learned that we all have few similarities and many differences about our background literacy history. Before attending college I wasn’t required to write much as I am required now. I find this as a challenge and keep working toward learning to write in different ways and develop my writing skills throughout this course. I was scared at the beginning that I might have a hard time getting through this class with a good grade. As we went through this class, I had difficulties understanding certain class material sometimes but I took that as a challenge and continued working without giving up in a search for bettering myself through hard times.

Things are going pretty good right now. I just need to finish the final paper for the Major Assignment 2 for this class. I don’t need to worry about Major Assignment 1 because I already finished that. In my opinion, also work ahead and get done with the group project like the coding paper. I do feel lost somewhere but it’s all good. I just need to take a minute and think thoroughly. For my other class, I am caught up. I had a test coming up but it’s not a big deal. Overall, I feel okay about things that’s going on.

Writing is it now I am sorry I am just now getting to the house. I don’t even know if this make sense. Well, I guess it’s kind of funny but no so much. I just feel sorry for writing because I would like to go home and sleep. I only got about two hours of sleep so I guess the first sentence of this paragraph is a truth. The generator reveal some part of me like things I might say typically, for example being sorry or texting someone I got home.
